MPEG-2 Video Output Fails

Tried to convert avi, mkv and flv to:
- mpeg 2 video format. "Failure" on each of three input files.
- mpeg 1 video format. Worked on all input files.

The output file name is automatically generated from the input file name which is good, however, the app does not handle multiple periods in the file name and will truncate the name at the first period.
